On Christmas Eve, a man waits for his granddaughter at a gas station in Archer Lodge, North Carolina.
Ah, memories! These photos, by Brent Clark, were taken in North Carolina. I lived there 23 years ago! They really capture the spirit of Christmas in the Southeast, a mostly rural, socially conservative area, with chilly, grey winters. Most of the locations are close to the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel hill area, also known as the Research Triangle Park area.
Season’s Greetings is Brent Clark’s ongoing project documenting the Christmas season, with its modern-day idiosyncrasies, in his native North Carolina.
Merry Christmas, everyone!

nice photos, especially the one with Santa waiting at the gas station.
