New Banksy work spotted in Fitzrovia, London

New street art believed to have been created by the artist Banksy has appeared on a wall in Fitzrovia, central London during Easter Monday. The work features the text – “if graffiti changed anything – it would be illegal” – in dripping red paint with a stenciled rat placed under the text. The rat has appeared in a number of Banksy works.

Banksy’s new piece lies on a wall on the corner of Clipstone Street and Cleveland Street in central London. Previously Banksy also had the infamous piece — One Nation Under CCTV — in Fitzrovia. That piece was removed after the Westminster City Council decided that it had to be erased because the artist did not have prior planning permission.
