A Tower of Babel in Buenos Aires built out of 30,000 books

The well-known Argentinian conceptual artist Marta Minujin has created a 7-story high Tower of Babel at Plaza San Martin in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She used 30,000 books donated by readers, libraries, and more than 50 embassies around the world.  Minujin‘s creation celebrates the naming of Buenos Aires as the World Book Capital 2011 by UNESCO.

This upcoming weekend there will be three major art fairs in San Francisco simultaneously run from the waterfront to the Tenderloin to SoMa. Before last year’s re-instatement of the San Francisco Fine Arts Fair (SFFAF), San Francisco had gone five years without an art fair.
