Help Japan Poster: ‘Land of the Riding Sons’ by Thomas Yang

Yesterday I was at the Japan Narita Airport in Tokyo and it was a steambath! Although the enormous earthquake and tsunami occurred several months ago in northern Japan, the Japanese people are still dealing with its aftermath. That means even areas untouched by the calamity, like Tokyo, must conserve electricity to prevent a massive power failure.

Recently, Thomas Yang has made a tribute to the people of Japan called Land of the Riding Sons. “If you look carefully,” he says, “you’ll see that it’s a close up view of a bicycle wheel. The hub represent the flag of Japan. I added little riders along the spokes because Japan is also known for their cycling culture.
