While most people read music in order to create music, artist Erika Iris Simmons reads music so she can decide how to carve it up to create a portrait. With an x-acto knife in hand, Simmons cuts up sheet music reshaping it to match the portrait of its composer. Since the bits of music are kept as intact as possible, I imagine that you could play that piece by Beethoven while your eye passes through his hair, face and jacket.
