New York City based Simone Lourenco makes these amazing abstract paper relief sculptures. Inspired by sources as varied as 17th century miniature Indian paintings, Japanese flower design, and Nature itself, Lourenco seeks to capture the movement and intricacy of life in the plant and animal kingdoms. Describing her work, the artist says, “I create space with collage and excise parts to build on line and detail.”
