Description: The Berkeley Center for New Media presents a screening of the new documentary Picture Start, directed by Harry Killas. Picture Start documents how a small group of artists put Vancouver at the leading edge of contemporary art. The film will be followed by a panel discussion with Blake Stimson (Art, UC Davis), Julia Bryan-Wilson (Art History, UC Berkeley), Sandra Phillips (Senior Curator of Photography, SFMoMA) and Director Harry Killas (Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver, Canada).
