German photographer Menno Aden installs a camera on the ceiling of familiar living and commercial spaces to capture an aerial perspective of the interiors. The resulting images flattens and abstracts the space turning it into an intriguing assemblage of sorts. Critic and fellow artist Miriam Nöske said, “The views into private homes and secret retreats bring up associations of the ubiquitous observation camera. The notion of surveillance is systematically played out by the artist to hint at society’s voyeuristic urge that popular culture has made mainstream.”
