Aakash Nihalani transforms the landscape with masking tape

Who doesn’t need a break from life’s day-to-day grind? New York City based artist Aakash Nihalani transforms public areas allowing people to “unexpectedly disconnect from their reality.” By adding isometric rectangles and squares to surfaces like streets and buildings, Nihalani creates new spaces within existing spaces with just a roll of masking tape.

The New York City based artist says, “My work is created in reaction to what we readily encounter in our lives, sidewalks and doorways, buildings and bricks.  Im just connecting the dots diferently to create my own picture. Others need to see that they can create too, connecting their own dots, in their own places.”
