Donna Ruff cuts patterns into the New York Times

“2.12.11″ newspaper, 16 x 11.5 in

Artist Donna Ruff creates these exquisite patterns by cutting up pages from the New York Times. Ruff writes that she “finds beauty and inspiration in sacred texts such as the Torah and the Qur’an, but also in the New York Times and the Manhattan phone book; in cathedrals, mosques and synagogues, but also in the warehouses of Chicago and Brooklyn.

Here is a post on another artist who creates art from the New York Times: “Lauren DiCioccio hand-embroiders images from the New York Times.”
