Using computer software tools, artist Sergio Albiac creates generative portraits because it allows him to explore the influence of randomness as well as the relationship between man and technology. I am intrigued by this series of portraits, called “Laws of Attractor” which use a mixture of generative collage, digital inks and accidental glitches. Albiac explains this series as a “programmed emotional responses to face recognition.” I’m not sure what that means (and I’m a computer scientist by training) but you can read more about his process of generative sketching here.
