Artist Jen Stark currently has her first solo show at the Martha Otero Gallery in Los Angeles. “To the Power Of” features Stark’s signature papercut sculptures. Inspired by the rhythmic visual qualities of mandalas and other such sacred objects, the pieces bring to mind topographic maps and three-dimensional prisms. The title of the show springs from the artist’s interest in mathematics where ‘to the power of…’ is a statement implying exponential growth. This show also features new additions to Stark’s portfolio such as pieces built directly into the wall as well as miniature works.
“To the Power Of” runs through November 3rd, 2012 at the Martha Otero Gallery in Los Angeles.
